Overnight RV Parking is available at the fairgrounds. Limited hookups are available on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations are not accepted. If spaces with hookups are filled, dry camping spots are available.

Price per night: $35 (cash only) paid upon arrival

*Carlos Vieira Foundation is not responsible for operations of RV parking. Please contact the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds with any questions or concerns.

    Nelia was born on the Island of Terciera, Azores. She emigrated to the USA when she was 5, but remained connected to her culture through Folklore groups, Carnaval dances, church choir and eventually joining a local Portuguese cover band at age 18. Nelia is a singer, performer, song writer and producer determined to break down barriers in the Luso-American communities. On stage, she manages to capture audiences with her ethnic- flavored music captivating crowds with her energy and fun personality.

David DeMelo
  • David DeMelo

    David DeMelo is a Portuguese American artist from Massachusetts with Azorian roots from São Miguel & Flores. David started his musical career at the age of 9, learning how to play guitar and has since dedicated his passion to music towards the Portuguese Culture and traditions. Throughout the years in his professional music career, he has written, composed and produced many songs in the Portuguese language. He continues to maintain the Portuguese language and culture alive outside of Portugal. He currently has 4 CDs released on all digital platforms and performs internationally in countries ranging from US, Canada, Portugal, Venezuela and beyond.

Sandro G
  • Sandro G

    Born in the Portuguese island of São Miguel (Azores), Sandro grew up in a rich culture of island life, the bounty of the sea and his mother's singing voice enveloping their tiny house. In 1984 ,the family immigrated to East Somerville, MA. 

    In 2003, he achieved success in Portugal with his songs "Tu És Uma Galinha" and "Eu Não Vou Chorar".

Vavo Brito
  • Vavo Brito

    Hugo Brito is an up and coming comedian who plays a character called Vavo Brito. Vavo Brito is slowly becoming a popular comic figure around the Portuguese Community in the United States and the Azores. Her favorite things to do are to laugh, drink wine, gossip about everyone's life, and pick up the tomatoes from her quintal.

    Hugo Brito (Vavo Brito) is 23 years old, was born in the island of Terceira and immigrated to the state of Massachusetts in the United States with his parents when he was only 11 years old.

    His dream is to travel the world doing comedy, making the Portuguese community laugh and inspire other young kids to go after their dreams.

Chico Avila
  • Chico Avila

    Singer/songwriter Chico Avila captivates diverse audiences with his natural talent and wide range of musical styles. Chico is a producer and entertainer as well who has performed all over the world for live audiences. He sings much of his music in his native Portuguese language. His dynamic shows highlight the Portuguese culture and music and take audiences on a soulful and emotional journey.

Zé dadega & ZéDuarte
  • Zé dadega & ZéDuarte

    Ze Duarte & Ze Dadega! Zé Duarte was born in the island of Pico where, at a young age, already had a passion for music. After finishing school, he returned to Pico to become a Biology teacher. Still dedicated to music, he composed original songs written by his father, including “Whale, Whale”, that still today is recognized as a traditional symbol of the Azorean culture.

    Zé immigrated to the United States in 1984, continuing with his original music. He recorded five albums, the last work is considered to be a historical book about the Azores because it puts the Azorean immigration of “whalers” through our ancestors in perspective, brings up roots of the “Holy Spirit”, shows how we live surrounded by “Black Stones”, brings us a flavor of our Azorean popular music in “Azorean Mix”, and showing the love between a father and his daughter, singing together “I like You”.

Alcides Machado
  • Alcides Machado

    Alcides immigrated to the United States from São Jorge, Azores, Portugal and has dedicated years to writing and producing for himself and other artists.

    The Generations band are a local Portuguese-American band who performs a variety of popular and classic music!

Marisa Silva Rocha
  • Marisa Silva Rocha

    Marisa Silva Rocha is a Portuguese-American Fadista, brought up in the "Little Portugal" neighborhood of San Jose, California. She has enjoyed singing since she was a child, and began singing Fado in 2016, but has loved Fado music since her late teen years. She recently released her first single "Alfama", it is available on all music streaming platforms.
